The Mapping and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) program at City of Boise provides mapping services, technical support, data maintenance, data access, and overall coordination for the use of spatial technologies to all areas of the City. The GIS program is composed of a centralized “core” GIS Division under the Information Technology Department, and several GIS analysts and technicians serving various departments. Boise City GIS manages over 50 layers of spatial data including City boundaries, addresses, sewer systems, annexations, fire and police districts, and other data necessary to support the business of the City. This information is made available to users via standard and customized paper maps, online interactive maps, and direct access for in-house customers to data sets stored in the corporate Geodatabase.
Vision: Enable geospatial technology in Boise lives and business.
